Everglobe Corporation was privileged to participate in the Summit of the Americas opening ceremony, which took place on June 8, 2022. As members of the Los Angeles Chamber of Commerce, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to attend this event in our own city.
If you are unfamiliar with the Summit of the Americas, it is a triennial event that brings together Western Hemisphere country delegates such as Canada, Ecuador, and Peru, to mention a few. The purpose of this conference was to aid in the resolution of issues such as immigration, trade, and poverty.
Los Angeles, which is home to one of the country’s biggest Hispanic/Latino populations, was the best possible location for this conference. Los Angeles has more than 224 spoken languages, residents from more than 140 countries, and government, business, and people-to-people ties with cities throughout the Americas. This alone showed our hemisphere and the rest of the world the best of American culture.
Governor Gavin Newsom stated, “You are in one of the most diverse cities — L.A. — in the most diverse region in the most diverse state — California — in the world’s most diverse democracy.”, He continued, “I couldn’t imagine a better place for all of you to be.”
